Annual Second Chance Conference

The purpose of this conference is for WHEW to provide solutions to respond to the lack of resources that is common in urban, disadvantaged, and marginalized environments to work to end recidivism in prison, domestic violence and homelessness.

Annual Town Hall Meeting

The purpose of this community meeting is for WHEWis to have an honest and sincere community discussion addressing concepts of love that are not commercialized or superficial, but are real, in-depth, and layered. WHEW feels that it is essential for communities of color to begin to have dialog to address core issues that are interconnected to the various challenges faced by young people and adults such as self hatred, low self-esteem, violent and abusive behavior among and between different types of relationships

Discussion Groups

As a result of our Second Annual Conference WHEW has begun monthly separate women/men only discussion groups. These groups are WHEW’s post-conference work which entail a follow up by using evaluation assessment tools which we use as a guide for critical action plans (already underway) to be used according to the groups shared ideals that will be used as solutions to address these issues.WHEW’s forums generate solutions and also connect women, service providers and educators to ongoing opportunities to create long-term change.
